Knowledge Connect

The knowledge your organization built should outlast any one career.

Knowledge Connect preserves a leader's or specialist's expertise, judgment, and institutional history, so it keeps serving your organization long after they retire, transfer, or move on.

Knowledge Connect is in active development. This page describes the focus of this market area and the platform capabilities it will draw on.

The Problem

Expertise walks out the door with the expert.

Every organization has people whose judgment cannot be found in a manual: the engineer who knows why a system was built a certain way, the executive who remembers every decision that shaped a strategy, the specialist who can spot a problem before it shows up in a report.

When that person retires, changes roles, or leaves, their organization does not just lose a name from an org chart. It loses years of context, reasoning, and judgment that took a career to build, and that a successor now has to rebuild from scratch, often the hard way.

Knowledge Connect exists to capture that expertise while it is still available, and to keep it in conversation with the people who need it next.

What It Does

Four ways Knowledge Connect preserves institutional expertise.

Structured knowledge capture

Guided interviews and documented history draw out not just what an expert knows, but why they made the decisions they made, in their own words.

A governed institutional knowledge base

Captured expertise is organized into a governed institutional knowledge base rather than a scattered set of documents, reviewed and scored for reliability by the Forever Spoken Trusted Multi-layered Fidelity Index. We refer to it afterward as the Fidelity Index.

Conversational access for successors

Through an always-open conversation space, current employees and successors can ask questions of the record directly, instead of hunting through old files for an answer that may not exist in writing.

Role-based governance for sensitive expertise

Not every piece of institutional knowledge belongs to every employee. Access is governed by role, so sensitive judgment and strategy stay available only to the people authorized to see them.

How It Works

Capture. Verify. Consult.

01

Identify and capture

Guided interviews and documented history record an expert's knowledge, decisions, and context, with consent for how it may be used inside the organization.

02

Curate and verify

Trusted colleagues review and confirm each contribution before it becomes part of the knowledge base, keeping it accurate and citation-backed.

03

Consult and preserve

Successors and teams consult the knowledge base in ongoing conversation, so expertise stays available long after a role changes hands.

Who It Serves

Built for the people who carry an organization's judgment.

Knowledge Connect spans two personas presented separately today on our Who We Serve page: an enterprise executive whose expertise carries a business forward, and an institutional archivist whose responsibility is scholarly and organizational memory.

Note: whether these should remain two personas or be consolidated under Knowledge Connect has not yet been decided by the client.

Governance and Trust

Judgment worth preserving deserves careful handling.

Consent on what is preserved

An expert agrees to what is captured and how the organization may use it, recorded and documented before capture begins.

Citation-grade provenance

Every entry traces back to its source, an interview, a document, a decision record, so the knowledge base can be inspected and trusted rather than taken on faith.

Role-based access

Sensitive strategy and judgment are visible only to the roles authorized to see them, set by the organization, not by default.

The right to revoke

An expert or the organization can update permissions or restrict access to captured knowledge at any time, under the terms agreed at capture.

Do not let expertise retire with the expert.
